My name is Caleb Kimbrough(calebkimbrough.com). In real life I’m a lowly cook who enjoys making delicious food in a speedy manor, but when the moon comes out I turn into a whole different creature. In my spare time I create textures to give away to designers, photographers and artists. I run two sites: L+T and seamlesstextures.net, write a weekly column at Bittbox, and make guest appearences on design blogs across the internet. (I’m also currently looking for a full time photography job somewhere in the US, if you know of any email me: caleb(at)lostandtaken.com)
I decided to make this “micro site” because I’m trying to teach myself web design and css/xhtml in my insomnia-induced spare time. I do not claim to be a designer, so don’t call me one please. However, if you would like to give me some helpful feedback on the site or textures, feel free to leave me a comment.
I created the textures by mixing public domain images of nebulae and galaxies with some of my existing grunge, rust, and paper textures. Each texture you see on this site is actually 3-5 images blended together with Photoshop in different layers, with various attributes. I had an absolute blast just playing around with the images and will probably make another set similar to this in the near future.
What you can do: Use the textures for any of your design or photography projects, both personal and commercial. Don’t worry, there’s absolutely no need to give me credit
What you can’t do: Do NOT sell the textures as your own stock images. Do NOT host these images elsewhere or give them away on your website/blog/forum/whatever…just post a link and send people here. Other than that, go crazy
